Uganda National Association of Cerebral Palsy (UNAC) on 6th October 2017 joined the rest of the world to commemorate Cerebral Palsy Day. With the theme “I am Here…We Are Here ……And We want The World To Know!”
Our voice calls upon the public both national and international state agencies to; Ensure equitable access to inclusive education, free/subsidized medical services to Persons with cerebral palsy and invest in research on Cerebral palsy so as to have sufficient data for appropriate planning and Intervention. Because in Uganda, 12.4 % of the population are children with Disabilities. Unfortunately in Uganda cerebral palsy is attached to very many myths, this has increased the level of vulnerability and exclusion of Persons with Cerebral Palsy in all aspects of life in the society.
