Access to Social Services

Promoting access to social services for persons with CP such as education, health and other specialized services.

  • UCPNA in partnership with Katalemwa Chesire Home (KCH) and St. Charles Lwanga primary school in Bukerere Goma division Mukono district, we established a Day Care and Rehabilitation Centre for children with severe disabilities.
  • Children are brought to the center in the morning and picked in the evening, at the center children receive physio and occupation therapy services and they are trained and engaged in doing daily self-help activities in order to improve their body functioning and well-being

Parents/care givers of children with CP are also trained in basic of physio and occupation therapy as a way of sustaining the knowledge and skills within the community;

  • We are supporting 43 learners with different disabilities in different schools to access education.
  • One of the learners we support is accessing education in an inclusive school at St. Charles Lwanga primary school in Bukerere.
